Jimmy Lawhorn was born in Tulsa, OK. Upon graduating from Oklahoma State University with a B.S in management, he began working for Blue Bell as a Territory Manager in 1998 in Tulsa. In 2001, he was named Sales Manager. He was promoted to Nashville Branch Manager in 2006. In 2010, he was named Regional Manager and later transferred to Tulsa in 2012. In 2015, he was promoted to Corporate Sales Manager and moved to Brenham, TX. Jimmy was named General Sales Manager in 2017 and Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2018. Jimmy Lawhorn was named President & CEO of Blue Bell Creameries in 2024, and as such, he’s in charge of the organization’s overall management and strategic direction. He currently still serves as President & CEO along with serving as a Director on the Blue Bell Creameries U.S.A., Inc. Board of Directors.
Currently Jimmy is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Brenham, TX and is also a member of Washington County Cares, a non-profit group which raises funds for various charities around Washington County. In 2018, Jimmy was named to the Brenham Economic Development Foundation Board of Directors, and he previously served on the Board of Directors for the Nolensville, TN Chamber of Commerce.
Jimmy and his wife Emily, a math teacher at Brenham High School, have three children – Brady, Alex and Katelynn, and currently reside in Chappell Hill, TX.
