Online Ice Cream Food Safety Course

An online training course designed for small to medium size artisan ice cream and frozen dessert manufacturers. The course consists of ten easily to follow, interactive sessions giving practical guidance and tools that manufacturers can use right now to enhance the safety of their products.

Development of this course was funded by The Innovation Center For U.S. Dairy and the content was developed by a collaborative group of dairy food safety and online learning experts from Cornell University, North Carolina State University, The National Dairy Council, The Ice Cream Club, Wells Enterprises, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co., Classic Mix Partners, Andia’s Homemade Ice Cream, The International Dairy Foods Association, and The National Ice Cream Retailers Association.


Other Training Opportunities

Dairy Food Safety Plan Writing Workshops are offered to help artisan ice cream producers write and/or review their food safety plans.  Additional free one-on-one dairy food safety support is also available. The National Ice Cream Retailers Association (NICRA) is a trade organization whose members are in the retail, wholesale and catering ice cream and frozen dessert business. NICRA offers many resources such as monthly bulletins with industry trends, tips & info, online video-based training, webinars, live training sessions, and member podcasts.
