IDFA hosted a briefing by federal government officials on the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak affecting dairy herds in several U.S. states. Lead officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), who are coordinating the federal response, shared the latest information on current positive cases of HPAI in U.S. dairy herds, HPAI’s impact to the health of dairy cattle, the ongoing epidemiological investigation into how HPAI is being transmitted to dairy cattle and current market and trade impacts.

IDFA members had an opportunity to ask questions via Zoom’s chat feature in the second half of the webinar.
