IDFA has opened registration for the Milk Procurement Workshop, which will be held March 25-26, 2015, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. Offered only once a year, this workshop provides a hands-on overview of milk price regulations.

The workshop is designed for dairy industry professionals who need to know how dairy’s complicated regulations impact their business. It is taught by Bob Yonkers, Ph.D., IDFA vice president and chief economist, who is a nationally recognized milk pricing expert. At IDFA, Yonkers oversees the research and analysis of the economic impacts of marketing conditions, government regulations and alternative policies on the U.S. and international dairy industries.

The workshop will begin with a big-picture look at the dairy industry that includes trends in farm milk production, dairy processing and manufacturing, consumption, trade and prices, followed by an introduction to all the major federal dairy policies. The workshop also will include a primer on milk price risk management.

IDFA encourages milk processors, cheese makers, frozen dessert marketers, butter manufacturers, nonfat dry milk manufacturers and others working in the dairy industry to register for this workshop.
