The International Dairy Federation held a board meeting last week in New Zealand, the host country of Jeremy Hill, chief science and technology officer at Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited and IDF president. Clay Hough, senior group vice president for IDFA and dairy processing representative for IDF, joined fellow board members in discussing the outcomes of the World Dairy Summit 2015, preparations for this year’s Summit and IDF’s relationship with the global farming community.

To start, the board members evaluated the success of the World Dairy Summit 2015, which drew 1,200 global dairy stakeholders from 50 countries to Vilnius, Lithuania, last September. The members also devoted time to reviewing the plans for the World Dairy Summit 2016, which will be held October 16-19 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Strategies to promote IDF’s continued and growing relationship with the global farming community were also discussed.

In addition to Hough and Hill, the board members who attended the meeting are Tova Avrech, Israel; Judith Bryans, United Kingdom; Jorgen Hald Christensen, Denmark, Jean-Marc Delort, Switzerland; and Marcel Denieul and Thierry Geslain, France. View a photo of the board members on our Facebook page.

About IDF

IDF’s current membership includes 45 countries representing the majority of the world’s current milk production. This membership is made up of National Committees that work together to serve as the scientific expertise for the dairy sector worldwide. They frequently consult with other global organizations, such as the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
