Are you a dairy industry professional looking to expand your knowledge and network? Are you an executive who prioritizes professional development for your talented up-and-coming managers and experts?

On May 1, IDFA launched the application process for the 2019-20 NextGen Leadership Program, and there are still a few spots available for the industry’s best and brightest. This unique initiative is designed to support, guide, and prepare mid-senior level dairy industry professionals ready to take the next step on their leadership journeys.

Advocacy, Education and Networking

The program will convene a class of 15-20 IDFA members for a multi-faceted year-long opportunity. The leadership initiative is designed around three areas of development: advocacy, education and networking. Participants will build relationships with their peers, develop leadership skills and learn to become advocates for the dairy industry.

Program participation is limited to representatives of IDFA member companies. All candidates must have the support of their companies to participate. Candidates who wish to apply must complete an application by June 14.

Selected candidates will meet three to four times over the course of one year. All applicants must commit to participation in the entire program, including attendance at all events.

Strong Response from Members

IDFA is very pleased with the responses received to date. With a few spots still available, IDFA encourages member companies to nominate future leaders.

If you have an employee you would like to nominate for the 2019-20 NextGen Leadership Class, contact Colin Newman, IDFA manager of legislative affairs and political programs, at cnewman@idfa.org. He will follow up and walk the employee through the application process.

Each applicant will need to complete the attached application and submit materials no later than June 15. In addition, the applicant must submit a cover letter, resume and letter of recommendation from a member of his or her corporate leadership team. The application and additional details are available on the NextGen page on the IDFA website.
