Rori Henderson, a junior at Cornell University, will join the IDFA team as an intern in the Legislative Affairs Department. For the next three months, Henderson will assist IDFA’s legislative team with special projects, research and events.

“As our summer intern, Rori will work closely with legislative staff to become familiar with the association’s efforts to shape policy, focusing on key dairy trade policy issues related to North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations, bilateral trade pacts and geographical indications,” said Beth Hughes, IDFA director of international affairs.

Henderson is currently completing a government and history bachelor’s degree and plans to complete coursework on dairy markets and policy during her fall semester.

Henderson was selected through IDFA’s Summer Internship Program, which launched in 2017. The program was designed to offer undergraduate university students a firsthand view of the association’s efforts to achieve positive dairy policy outcomes with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and officials in federal regulatory agencies.
