Members of Congress, their staffs and employees of the U.S. Department of Agriculture aren’t the only ones partying with IDFA this National Ice Cream Month. Through its @dairyidfa accounts on social media, IDFA has expanded the celebration online, uniting ice cream lovers around the world and encouraging them to share exciting visuals of their favorite dessert.

To keep the party going, IDFA brought back two of its most popular features this month: a new slate of Sunday Sundae recipe videos and the return of the IDFA Instagram Ice Cream Photo Contest. So far, hundreds of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube users have engaged with IDFA’s content, helping to amplify the universal enjoyment of America’s favorite treat.

Sunday Sundaes

IDFA began its festivities this month with the return of “Sunday Sundaes,” a series of recipe videos created for sharing on social media. The series features a new ice cream sundae recipe on Sundays in July, giving viewers a new way to celebrate National Ice Cream Month every week. From sandwiches made of sprinkles, layers of crunchy key lime pie and coffee-laden sundae treats, each video tackles decadent and creative ice cream recipes that can be enjoyed in less than a minute.

The 2016 debut of the series of recipe videos was well received, achieving more than 2,000 views on IDFA’s social media platforms. This year, IDFA gained additional visibility when USDA shared the Affogato Sundae recipe video on Twitter for National Ice Cream Day; this video reached nearly 15,000 Twitter users and garnered more than 1,000 views from a single post.
