Registration is now open for IDFA's Advocacy Days. Formerly known as Washington Conference, the industry’s popular legislative “fly-in” is scheduled to be held June 17-18 in Washington, D.C. IDFA changed the name this year to emphasize the important role that members play in advocating on Capitol Hill for policies that will enable their companies to prosper, grow and create jobs.

The Advocacy Days will be held at The Washington Court Hotel, conveniently located on Capitol Hill and close to many major Washington attractions. The program will include many popular events from the past, including a briefing by IDFA’s top policy experts on pending legislation that will affect dairy processors, and face-to-face meetings with members of Congress and administration officials.

"We strongly encourage all members to take advantage of the opportunities for access and networking that Advocacy Days will offer," said Connie Tipton, IDFA president and CEO. “There is no more effective proponent for your business than you.”

Family Fun Program Returns

IDFA has revived its popular family program this year so members can bring spouses, children and grandchildren to see the sites of Washington, D.C. While members are making visits to Capitol Hill, the Family Fun Days program will offer lunch on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, visits to museums, a special historical tour of the Capitol Building and an afternoon at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington.

The two-day conference will close with the 33rd anniversary of IDFA's annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party, which remains one of the “coolest” events on the Hill.

IDFA members are urged to register today to take advantage of the special room rate for Advocacy Days and begin making plans to attend.
