Citizens Against Government Waste, a private taxpayer organization, last week joined IDFA's call to get government out of milk pricing.

In its October 28 Wastewatcher column, CAGW highlighted IDFA's recent study, "Impacts of Eliminating Federal Milk Marketing Orders on Federal Nutrition Programs," which shows that eliminating the federal orders could save the federal government $5 billion over a 10-year period.

CAGW called for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction to "focus exclusively on cutting wasteful and outdated programs" and concluded that "The Federal Milk Marketing Order system is a great place to start."
