Daily drills used by the National Basketball Association, prizes for students who purchased milk, and motivational materials featuring NBA and WNBA All-Stars were just a few of the tools that the students at Cortland High School used to win a $15,000 gym make-over. The school, located in Cortland, N.Y., was one of more than 41,000 that helped get students active and eating right by participating in the 2009 "Get Fit By Finals" promotional program. The Milk Processor Education Program and the NBA launched the program to inspire teens to improve their physical fitness and make healthier food and beverage choices, like drinking milk.
