Russell brings a distinguished track record of strategic leadership and transformative accomplishments as both an operator and advisor in consumer goods and retail. in diverse organizations, including KIND, Mars, and Whirlpool.
As CEO of the iconic healthy snacking business KIND, following its acquisition by Mars, Russell orchestrated a turnaround and reinvention of the company. Under his leadership net sales reached $730M and he took the P&L from loss making to category-leading profitability.
Before leading KIND, Russell served as Chief Strategy Officer at Mars, where he led global strategic initiatives across Petcare, Snacking, and Food businesses for the $65B+ organization.
Russell also held senior executive positions at Whirlpool Corporation, where he led corporate strategy, M&A, and treasury. He spent the first 17 years of his career as an advisor. At The Boston Consulting Group he was a Managing Director and Partner and led the firm’s Consumer Goods and Retail group in the Northeast US.
Russell holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering with French from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine.
