Darin Hanson

Vice President, Milk Division & Risk Management, Foremost Farms USA

Darin Hanson is Vice President – Milk Division and Risk Management at Foremost Farms USA Cooperative. He brings more than 18 years of experience in the food industry and a proven track record of strong risk management and mitigation strategies that optimize supply chain and earnings. He joined Foremost Farms in January 2019 when he was named Vice President.

Foremost Farms, headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin, manufactures American- and Italian-style cheeses, butter and specialty whey ingredients for customers around the world. It also markets bulk fluid milk. The cooperative is owned by 1,100 dairy farmer-members from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The cooperative employs more than 1,000 people.

Before joining Foremost Farms, Hanson served as Senior Director – Milk Sourcing and Dairy Analytics at Land O’ Lakes, Inc. Prior to serving 8 years at Land O’ Lakes, Hanson held key leadership roles at General Mills and The Pillsbury Company.

Hanson holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota at St Paul and a Bachelor of Art in Economics from Drake University, Des Moines, IA. He currently serves on the board for International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA.)
