Chad Hamilton is General Counsel, Secretary and Executive Vice President of Legal and Governmental Affairs for Sargento. He currently oversees the company’s approach to all legal, risk and compliance matters including enterprise risk, government affairs, as well as food safety and quality– all areas that contribute to the vision at Sargento to be the most innovative, best-loved real food company.
With over 20 years of experience leading legal teams, Chad has a proven record of success managing legal concerns and minimizing risk exposure. Previously, he served as General Counsel for JBS USA and Chief Legal Counsel and Secretary for Swisslog Healthcare Solutions. Chad is particularly known for building solution-oriented legal departments through a reliance on strong business acumen, sophisticated legal experience, and a creative approach to problem-solving that enable the organization’s growth.
Chad has been recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as Top Corporate Counsel as well as a Community Champion. Additionally, he’s honored to be an Athena Leadership Award recipient and to receive the Top General Counsel Drinker Biddle First Chair Award.
Chad received a JD from the University of Colorado, an MBA through Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management , and a BS in animal and food science from Colorado State University.
Committed to community service he is often found volunteering with his family and serves as a director on multiple nonprofit boards.
