This year’s Advocacy Days attendees will get the "inside scoop" on federal policy and regulation in the dairy industry from Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) when he speaks at the Washington Insiders Breakfast on Thursday, June 18.
Representative Thompson was first elected to represent Pennsylvania’s Fifth District in the U.S. House of Representatives on November 4, 2008. He was sworn in to his fourth term on January 6, 2015.
He serves on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Education and Workforce Committee and is also a very active member of the Congressional Dairy Farmer Caucus. Thompson is also serving his third term as chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry.
“Representative Thompson has been an outspoken champion for the dairy industry during his time in Congress, and we are delighted to thank him in person for his support and to hear his thoughts on some of the important issues pending in Congress,” said Dave Carlin, senior vice president for legislative affairs and economic policy.
Advocacy Days, formerly known as Washington Conference, is an opportunity for IDFA members to make their voices heard in Washington. Conference highlights include a dairy policy briefing, networking opportunities with members of Congress and the annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party.
