I’ve previously touched on a number of school lunch topics that have also had significant news coverage, so I wanted to provide some of the articles I’ve found interesting. Following the coverage of some students’ concerns over new school meals leaving some kids hungry, lots of articles came out supporting the new meals.

So while there has been some negative attention for the nutrition updates, there’s also still a significant amount of support for the changes.  We’re still waiting for new nutrition standards for competitive foods in schools and I would expect more media coverage when that proposed rule is released. There has also been some activity from Congress, examining the impact of the nutrition standards for school meals:

This has even included the proposal of a bill to repeal the calorie limits for school meals:
