The House Agriculture Committee yesterday approved an amended version of the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act, which would create a national, science-based labeling standard for foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The next step is for the House Energy and Commerce Committee to possibly consider the bill; the Senate has not yet introduced a companion bill.
