IDFA continues to demonstrate that the dairy industry has a powerful economic impact – $620 billion in total – on the American economy. Did you know that dairy also indirectly supports unique industries across the nation, like printing? Dairy companies, distributors and retailers support American printers in a number of ways. Over 6,720 jobs in the printing industry depend on spending by the dairy industry or dairy industry employees. This includes over 4,150 printing jobs that are making containers and labels used in a wide range of dairy products, ranging from milk cartons to wrappers for ice cream novelties.  Other printers are working on documents and materials used by offices and headquarters operations. About 2,570 additional jobs for printers result from dairy employees and supplier employees purchasing stationary, invitations, greeting cards and other materials for their personal use. All told, the dairy industry creates $356.5 million in wages and over $1.1 billion in economic impact for American printers.
