On Monday President Obama signed the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010” to reauthorize the federal child nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).  IDFA supported the bill as it moved through Congress, since it continued the strong role of dairy products in the nutrition programs.  The First Lady’s Let’s Move program also supported the bill and released additional information when the bill was signed into law. IDFA will continue to work with USDA, other organizations and interested members as the act is implemented.
