IDFA’s legislative team took to Capitol Hill last Wednesday to participate in the Food and Beverage Issue Alliance’s annual reception where members of Congress, their staffs and industry stakeholders came together to welcome the 116th Congress. The gathering was hosted in the House Agriculture Room.

During the reception, IDFA’s team shared information about the association and its members, along with infographics from Dairy Delivers®, IDFA’s economic impact tool, to demonstrate the significant economic footprint of the dairy processing industry in the United States.

“This event was another great opportunity for IDFA staff to build new and existing relationships on Capitol Hill,” said Dave Carlin, IDFA senior vice president of legislative affairs and economic policy.

The Food and Beverage Issue Alliance is a coalition of 44 food industry trade associations that are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and work together to develop unified positions on nutrition and food safety issues. In addition to IDFA, other members of the alliance include the American Bakers Association, the American Beverage Association, the Corn Refiners Association, the Food Marketing Institute and the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
