IDFA is providing regulatory and scientific input for a new consumer communications initiative on dairy protein. The American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI) launched the initiative last fall to communicate positive facts about dairy proteins and enable consumers to make more informed decisions. IDFA is supporting this campaign by providing information to ensure campaign messages are firmly based in the latest science and research.

“We’re pleased to work with ADPI and the entire dairy industry on its efforts to tout the positive nutritional benefits of dairy proteins,” said Cary Frye, IDFA senior vice president of regulatory affairs. “IDFA will be participating in this campaign to provide our regulatory expertise and insights for consumer messages about dairy proteins that are impactful, truthful and not misleading.”

Through the Dairy Protein Messaging Initiative, ADPI aims to provide facts relative to the value and benefits of dairy protein, such as milk proteins and whey proteins, and other dairy ingredients to consumers.

ADPI plans to publish and distribute campaign messages in the second quarter of this year.
