With the midterm elections just two weeks away, political prognosticators are tracking competitive races to chart the landscape of the next Congress and what the results could mean for future policy decisions. To offer a unique perspective for sweetener users, David Wasserman, house editor and political analyst for The Cook Political Report, will share his insight at the International Sweetener Colloquium, Feb. 24-27, in Aventura, Florida. Wasserman will analyze the results, offer predictions for 2020 and discuss what the future political landscape will hold for business and the sweetener industry.

According to Wasserman, the current races for House and Senate seats are shaping up to be radically different.

“In my time covering races professionally, I’ve never observed this little overlap between the battlegrounds of high-stakes Senate and House races,” Wasserman said in a New York Times op-ed. “The divergent geography of 2018 means we will really have two midterm elections.”
