The dairy products industry in Maryland employs more than 18,000 skilled individuals, generates nearly $700 million in direct wages and has an overall economic impact of $2.68 billion.
The state’s dairy companies ranked 23rd among the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico in contributions to the U.S. gross domestic product in 2017, according to IDFA’s Dairy Delivers.
