3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) is seeking nominations for its 2017 Volunteer Service Awards program to recognize the extraordinary dedication and commitment of three individuals who contribute to the development of voluntary standards and the mission of 3-A SSI. The deadline for nominations is March 31.

IDFA is a founding member of 3-A SSI, which develops standards for food processing equipment and administers the inspection programs required for equipment to receive 3-A Symbol Authorization. The organization’s goal is to promote food safety through hygienic equipment design.

Leadership Service Award

The Leadership Service Award will be presented to an individual or group that has demonstrated significant contributions to 3-A SSI voluntary standards development and shown outstanding service in helping 3-A SSI to attain its goals. Accomplishments may include leading a major new activity, reducing the cycle time of development, revitalizing a dormant activity or other outstanding service.

Advancement Award

The Advancement Award will honor outstanding accomplishments by an individual or group on behalf of 3-A SSI, such as advancing the use or industry recognition of 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices.

Next Generation Award

The Next Generation Award will honor an individual who has been engaged in 3-A SSI standards development activities for fewer than five years and has demonstrated leadership, dedication and significant contributions to the development of 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices.

The deadline for nominations is March 31, 2017. The awards will be presented at the 3-A SSI Annual Meeting on May 3, 2017, in Bloomington, Minn.
