Change Is Watchword for International Sweetener Colloquium

Oct 26, 2016
Ron Brownstein, Political Director of the Atlantic Media Company

Changes in markets, politics and consumer influence – whether big or small, blatant or subtle – will headline the program now taking shape for the International Sweetener Colloquium, Feb. 26-March 1, at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Calif. The Colloquium will offer in-depth analyses of international, U.S. and Mexican sweetener markets, as well as discussions on the trends, issues and opportunities facing the industry today.

Key topics on the agenda include:

  • The world sugar situation
  • Winners and losers in the U.S. sugar market
  • Mexican sugar outlook
  • Importance of sustainability in the sugar sector
  • Growing impact of expanded sweetener choices
  • Shifting beliefs and increasing buyer influence
  • Consumer hot buttons
  • Outlook for ingredients: grains, oilseeds, ethanol, dairy and cocoa

Lunch with Ron Brownstein

A special luncheon session on Feb. 28 will feature Ron Brownstein, the political director of the Atlantic Media Company. During his presentation on “The Tectonic Plates of American Politics and the Changing Face of America,” Brownstein will examine the profound demographic, social and economic changes that are restructuring U.S. politics and shaping the current political deadlock. He’ll explain what it will take to build consensus and move the country beyond the current partisan impasse.

Brownstein is a two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of presidential campaigns. He writes a weekly column and regularly contributes other pieces for the National Journal, contributes to Quartz and The Atlantic, and coordinates political coverage and activities across publications produced by Atlantic Media.

Sponsorship Opportunities
