The Coalition for Transportation Productivity, of which IDFA is a long-standing member, is co-sponsoring a “Stand up for Shippers” fly-in this week that will allow industry advocates to meet with members of Congress to discuss infrastructure investment, trucking productivity and excessive regulations.

IDFA staff will join other industry and company representatives to help lay the groundwork for congressional consideration of the Safe and Efficient Transportation Act (SETA). This bill would give the states the option to increase truck weight limits on interstate highways for vehicles equipped with a sixth axle.

IDFA hopes that SETA will be included in a broader transportation reauthorization bill that Congress may take up later this year.
