Vivien Godfrey, CEO of the Milk Processor Education Program, has joined the roster of speakers for IDFA's Policy & Politics Conference, September 19-21, in Washington, D.C. Godfrey will deliver her second annual State of the Fluid Milk Industry address during breakfast on Friday, September 21. She will examine the issues and challenges facing the fluid milk industry and discuss the implications for milk processors.

The State of the Industry for Fluid Milk presentation will highlight:

  • efforts made by the fluid milk industry in the past five years to decrease added sugars in chocolate milks sold in schools by 40 percent on average:
  • opportunities to use chocolate milk to compete in the sports drink category; and
  • ways to use recent research showing that, when milk is in the shopping basket, the basket ring will be double the size on average. 

MilkPEP's 2012 initiatives are The Breakfast Project and Refuel – got chocolate milk?. MilkPEP also remains focused on efforts to support milk in schools and compete aggressively with milk imitators.
