IDFA launched its comprehensive Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification and training program in 2002, and the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments (NCIMS) adopted a voluntary HACCP program the following year. IDFA continues to update and improve its HACCP training, most recently to cover related requirements in the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act.

"HACCP still is the best food-safety program you can implement to ensure customer, third-party and regulatory compliance and the production of safe food products," said Jonathan Gardner, IDFA vice president of regulatory affairs and HACCP expert.

The next IDFA Dairy HACCP Course will be held March 7-9, in Rosemont, Ill.
