IDFA will join other industry representatives at a listening session with Food and Drug Administration officials to discuss the agency's concerns regarding drug residues. FDA is trying to determine if there is a correlation between illegal drug residues found in tissue samples of meat from some culled dairy cows and the milk supply from these farms.

The agency is seeking practical recommendations that could replace the controversial milk sampling plan that it introduced and then put on hold earlier this year. The meeting, hosted by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, will be held March 24 in Sacramento, Calif.
