IDFA and the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® program will offer a joint conference call for members on October 26 to discuss a new benchmarking tool and the development of an energy management guide for dairy processors. The Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory Energy/Water Benchmarking Tool for Dairy will measure a plant's energy intensity against specified best practices and identify new energy-efficiency options to implement.

These tools are designed to help processors control and document energy use in their facilities as part of the ENERGY STAR® program. The one-hour call will begin at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.

To participate, contact Brian Fields, IDFA assistant for regulatory affairs, at bfields@idfa.org.
