The U.S. Food and Drug Administration last week posted a series of questions and answers for the food industry regarding the recent recall of hydrolyzed vegetable protein made by Basic Food Flavors, Inc. The recall affects hydrolyzed vegetable protein in paste and powder form that was produced on or after September 17, 2009. This product is used by some dairy processors in dips and a few other spicy flavored products.
