The snow started falling in our nation's capital last Friday morning, leaving record levels of accumulation before the second storm ended Wednesday evening. The sun has emerged, plows are back on the roads and even the Senate was in session yesterday, ending the nearly weeklong standstill of activity. The federal government and IDFA closed for four days this week - historians can't recall a time when government agencies closed for inclement weather for more than three consecutive days - but both are back in operation today.
