Mike John has responsibilities over two key pieces of Maryland & Virginia’s operations, managing and growing the cooperative’s raw milk sales, and similarly managing Ingredients Division sales. Mike joined Maryland & Virginia in 2004 andhas in the last seven years restructured Maryland & Virginia’s member relations, logistics and quality departments.
A Penn State graduate, Mike has a strong background in agricultural economics. Initially Mike started out his career in the banking industry as an Agribusiness Loan Officer. He moved into the field as a quality inspector with Hershey Foodsin the early 1990s. Mike’s next step brought him to Atlantic Dairy Cooperative where he eventually worked his way up to CFO. In 1998 Atlantic Dairy Cooperative merged with Land O’Lakes, where Mike held various positions including Business Development Managerin the Eastern Region.
