No DEIP Activity: World Markets a Factor

The federal government has not made any movement so far this fiscal year on the Dairy Export Incentive Program (DEIP), influenced in part by the positive world market conditions — relatively higher world prices — which are making U.S. products more competitive. The government usually announces DEIP product allocations early in the fiscal year, which started July 1, 2005. The DEIP program compensates dairy product exporters for additional costs incurred to procure and ship certain dairy products.
