Beginning this month, IDFA will highlight current research for the dairy industry based on a monthly report from the National Dairy Council. The September 2010 report covers recent research on the use of annatto in cheese and bleaching methods for whey protein, the importance of distributing protein intake across meals to maintain lean muscle during weight loss and the maternal factors associated with an increased risk for children to develop a milk allergy.

The report also features back-to-school meal trends from the School Nutrition Association, which reveal schools are serving more fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products. Read more here.
