If the agriculture appropriations bill is signed by the president as expected, IDFA urges the U.S. Department of Agriculture to use the additional funding to allow yogurt in supplemental feeding programs. "Offering yogurt as a dairy option would introduce a whole new generation to its nutritional health benefits, increase demand for milk in many states and help bolster long-term demand for dairy products among a segment of the population that so critically needs it," explained Peggy Armstrong, IDFA director of communications, in her DairyLine broadcast to producers this month.

DairyLine is heard on more than 90 radio stations, and IDFA regularly provides a processor perspective on key industry issues.
