Members of Congress and their staffs pour out of the Capitol Building and surrounding offices every year for the “coolest” party on the Hill. IDFA members donated more than 950 gallons of ice cream, and 1,200 novelties, and 32 ice cream cakes for the 40th Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party in Union Square Park in 2024, where long lines of eager partygoers spanned across the direct view of the Capitol dome.
Don't forget that July is National Ice Cream Month and Sunday, July 20, 2025, is National Ice Cream Day.
