How IDFA and Policymakers Celebrate With Ice Cream

Members of Congress and their staffs pour out of the Capitol Building and surrounding offices ever year for the “coolest” party on the Hill. IDFA's Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party, now in its 36th year, served more than 1,500 gallons of ice cream and thousands of root beer floats this year in Union Square Park, where long lines of eager partygoers spanned across the direct view of the Capitol dome.

Each year the party grows, and people arrive earlier and earlier. Once again attendees came prepared with boxes, recycling bins and mail carts that they filled abundantly with bowls of ice cream for colleagues and themselves.

We’re celebrating National Ice Cream Day this year with the U.S. Department of Agriculture on July 19, on the USDA farmers-market grounds bordering the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Don't forget that July is National Ice Cream Month and Sunday, July 15, 2018, is National Ice Cream Day.
