John Allan, IDFA vice president of regulatory affairs and international standards, explains in his  Dairy Foods “Rules & Regs” column this month that the dairy industry has made great progress in devising strategies to prevent product contamination from Listeria monocytogenes.

Noting that U.S. dairy products are among the safest in the world, Allan said having a solid understanding of the risks in plants and continuously learning from experiences is the best way to ensure success and improve the industry’s strong food safety record.
