Members of Congress and their staffs poured out of the Capitol Building and surrounding offices yesterday for the “coolest” party on the Hill. IDFA's 34th Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party served more than 50 flavors of ice cream and thousands of root beer floats this year in Upper Senate Park, where the lines were so long they snaked outside the large grassy area and onto the sidewalks surrounding the park.

Each year the party grows, and people arrive earlier and earlier. Once again attendees came prepared with boxes, recycling bins and mail carts that they filled abundantly with bowls of ice cream for colleagues and themselves. Visit IDFA’s Facebook page for photos of the fun.
