Congressional members and staff poured out of the Capitol and surrounding office buildings last Thursday for the “coolest” party and treats on the Hill. IDFA's 32nd Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party served more than 6,000 bowls of ice cream and 2,000 root beer floats, using 30 cases of sundae toppings on a beautiful June afternoon at Upper Senate Park.

The party was the perfect ending to IDFA's two-day legislative fly-in, Washington Conference, which drew scores of dairy executives to Washington, D.C. They made almost 80 visits to congressional offices to discuss their concerns about the recently completed Farm Bill, trade, GMO labeling, raw milk, the school nutrition program, immigration, truck weights, ethanol and more.

IDFA would like to thank the following Ice Cream Party Sponsors for their generous donations, which helped to make the event such a great success. A list of the delicious ice cream flavors is available here.
