(Washington, D.C. - September 17, 2010) During the fall board meetings held this week in conjunction with the International Dairy Show, the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and its three constituent organizations - the Milk Industry Foundation (MIF), the National Cheese Institute (NCI) and the International Ice Cream Association (IICA) - elected new officers and voted on new board members.

The IDFA chairmanship is open to any former leader of one of the three constituent organizations for up to a two-year term. Vanic, who was re-elected this year, is a former NCI chairman and sits on the NCI advisory committee. The chairmen of MIF, NCI and IICA are elected by their respective board members for two-year terms.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), Washington, D.C., represents the nation's dairy manufacturing and marketing industries and their suppliers, with a membership of 550 companies representing a $110-billion a year industry. IDFA is composed of three constituent organizations: the Milk Industry Foundation (MIF), the National Cheese Institute (NCI) and the International Ice Cream Association (IICA). IDFA's 220 dairy processing members run more than 600 plant operations, and range from large multi-national organizations to single-plant companies.
