The International Dairy Federation (IDF) released its "World Dairy Situation 2016" report during the IDF World Dairy Summit last month in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The report canvasses the state of the global dairy industry, covering milk production, processing, trade, pricing and consumption in more than 50 dairy producing countries. IDF publishes the report annually to further the understanding of dairy’s macro supply-and-demand trends and the policy and economic factors that influence them.

The 259-page report this year included results from an all-new IDF Global Marketing Trends Survey that assessed barriers, drivers and past and future trends in household dairy consumption in 27 countries.

The report was led by the IDF Standing Committee on Dairy Policies and Economics, and the market survey was led by the IDF Standing Committee on Marketing. Bob Yonkers, IDFA vice president and chief economist, represents IDFA as a member of both committees.

The report is available for purchase at the IDF website. View a short preview of the report here
