In queso you haven’t heard, today is Big Block of Cheese Day, curd-esy of the White House.

In 1837, President Andrew Jackson famously opened the doors to the White House to invite citizens to comté share their thoughts and nibble on a 1400 pound block of cheese. Now 179 years later, the White House is taking the open house online for a day-long engagement event on social media.

The White House invited users on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr to ask-adero away using the hashtag #BigBlockOfCheeseDay. Cabinet officials, members of Congress, Senior White House officials and special guests were scheduled on different topics throughout the day to answer questions and receive cheesy puns.
