IDFA is once again focused on increasing dairy processor voter turnout on Election Day, November 4, as a part of DAIRY COUNTS, the association’s political involvement campaign. Starting this month, IDFA is offering complimentary posters and website graphics that member companies can use to remind dairy industry employees that voting is their most important job on Election Day.
Simple actions like providing access to voter registration materials and candidate information can have a strong impact on boosting voter turnout. Hanging “Representative Government is Not a Spectator Sport” posters in employee lunchrooms and break rooms and displaying “Vote 2014” web graphics on company websites is an easy, cost-effective way to demonstrate to employees and your community that your company feels that voting is important.
To place an order for these materials, visit the DAIRY COUNTS site or contact Ashley Burch, director of political programs for IDFA, at email@example.com or (202) 220-3534.
IDFA also encourages member companies and employees to utilize the DAIRY COUNTS website. Visitors can quickly find state-specific information on how to register to vote, how to update name/address information on their current voter registrations and how to apply for an absentee ballot if necessary.
The website also allows visitors to view information about candidates in the upcoming elections, including incumbent voting records and bill sponsorships on key dairy industry legislation. IDFA believes this information will help dairy industry employees make informed decisions when casting their ballots on November 4. Visit the DAIRY COUNTS website for details.
DAIRY COUNTS is aimed at getting informed people involved in the political process to ensure a stable environment for businesses, especially highly regulated industries such as the dairy processing industry.
