IDFA is celebrating National Ice Cream Month throughout July in a number of different ways, and we invite our members to participate in the celebration.
On behalf of the International Ice Cream Association we conducted our second annual survey of our members to identify trends and fun facts about the ice cream and frozen dessert industry. From the responses we have received so far, premium ice cream is the most popular product, with a growing demand for frozen yogurt.
“The most popular flavors continue to be the old favorites: vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan and mint chocolate chip,” said Peggy Armstrong, IDFA’s vice president of communications. “We will be sharing this information with media and on our social media networks, so if you would like to weigh in, please take the survey!”

We are also celebrating National Ice Cream Month on social media! IDFA is sponsoring an ice cream photo contest on Instagram and Twitter. After following @dairyidfa, participants are invited to share a photo that shows how they are celebrating with the tag #icecreammonth. The photos with the most “likes” will be the winner of free ice cream, chosen every Friday through July 31, 2013.
