Compromise Goodlatte-Scott Amendment Picks Up Key Endorsement

Aug 15, 2012

Jim Dickrell, editor of Dairy Today magazine, recently encouraged processors and producers to stop the divisiveness and revisit the Farm Bill amendment offered by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and David Scott (D-GA).

Dickrell called the amendment, which would provide margin insurance without supply management, "a potential grand compromise" that should be considered.

"National Milk would get most of what it wants. IDFA wouldn't get most of what it doesn't want. And it would remove one more sticking point in getting the Farm Bill passed," he said.
