Celebrate My Plate Day with Photos of Nutritious Dairy Products

Mar 07, 2012

Tomorrow is "What's on My Plate?" day, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture is encouraging Americans to share photographs of their healthy food choices.

Since low-fat and fat-free dairy products are encouraged by the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the MyPlate graphic, IDFA encourages members to share photos of healthy meals that include dairy products.

"This is a great chance to highlight products that may be less often thought of as healthy options, including low-fat ice cream or lower-fat cheeses," said Michelle Matto, IDFA's nutrition and labeling consultant, in her recent Nutrition Notes Blog post
