Three More Producer Groups Oppose Parts of Draft Legislation

Aug 10, 2011

National All-Jersey Inc., California Dairies, Inc., and the National Dairy Producers Organization are the latest dairy producer groups to oppose elements of the draft dairy policy reform legislation offered for discussion by Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN).

They join the Minnesota Milk Producers Association, the Wisconsin Dairy Business Association and the Dairy Policy Action Coalition in voicing concern over the draft legislation. The draft bill includes the Dairy Market Stabilization Program, which California Dairies concluded was an "unexpected, unfair and unwarranted tax on dairy producers."
