President Barack Obama this week ordered most federal agencies to review regulations on businesses to determine whether they could be stifling economic growth and job creation. Aiming for a balance between free market policies and public health safeguards, the president also asked regulators to pay special attention to rules that affect small businesses.

"We applaud the president's initiative and will continue to point out, as we did last week, that the Federal Milk Marketing Order system and the slow process for changing product standards of identity are major obstacles to growth in the dairy industry," said Jerry Slominski, IDFA senior vice president.
