The U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched a massive campaign today to restore confidence in free enterprise and to create 20 million jobs through free enterprise over the next 10 years.
Speaking with Connie Tipton, IDFA president and CEO, as well as other trade association executives who participate on the Chamber's distinguished Association Committee of 100, Chamber CEO Tom Donahue called on the association community to help mobilize businesses across America in support of the "American Free Enterprise. Dream Big." campaign.
"In our extensive consumer research we learned that today only 53 percent of Americans prefer capitalism to socialism, and that number is much lower if you poll only younger people," Donahue said.
"I applaud the Chamber's effort to harness the power of free enterprise and to mobilize the business community in support of the very things that have made America great," said Tipton. "Our future is at stake, and we all have an opportunity to participate in shaping it through policies and programs that will keep free enterprise alive and strong."
